Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu entered Vrindavan on Kartik Purnima.
By the Grace of my Gurudev Nalin Nirula ji and the Glorious Guru Parampara, I was fortunate to visit Sri Vrindavan Dham on 5th November 2025 on the occasion of Kartik Purnima.
Kartik Purnima is one of the most auspicious days of the year and it is impossible to glorify it completely in this small article, still, here is the list of major known festivals celebrated on Kartik Purnima:
Grand Finale of the auspicious Kartik Month
Sri Radha-Krishna’s Maha Raas
Lord Shiva, in his form as Tripurantaka, killed Tripurasura.
Manifestation day of Matsya, Lord Vishnu's fish incarnation
Manifestation of Vrinda devi, the personification of the Tulasi ji
Completion of Pushkar mela, considered the most important day of the fair. Kartik Purnima snan at Pushkar lake leads to salvation.
Final day to perform the Tulasi Vivaha ceremony.
Dev-Deepawali - Gods descended to Earth in the sacred rivers, on this day, and therefore by taking a holy dip, devotees receive the blessings of all the Gods
On this day, Bhagwan Vishnu returns to his abode after completing his stay with king Mahabali, another reason why the day is known as Deva-Deepawali.
Final day of Bhishma Panchak

This day becomes even more significant if falls under the nakshatra of Krittika, then it is called Maha Kartika.
If the nakshatra is Bharani, the results are stated to be special.
If it is Rohini, then the fruitful results are even more.
This year it was Bharani Nakshatra.
